Due to coronavirus, the schools have been closed and there has been this question lingering in the heads of the parents – what would the kids do all day by staying at home? So, it is not only important to look after their mental health but also important to keep them engaged by making them indulge in interesting activities which would make them happy as well as relieves their stress being away from their friends. Make them routine as that of the school timings which would make them engaged. Your target is to keep your kids busy and learning and doing things interesting while all the other things have been done. While kids are used to following up according to a schedule, they would not worry about other things. So, make a blueprint for the day and make your kids follow it. So, here are a few ideas on how you could schedule your kids’ every day.

MAKE TIME FOR PLAY: When you marked times for things such as food and school assignments, you must be ready to fill the rest of the day. Kids would be craving for their play-time and so you should fill the play-time for your kids. When a child is imagining, creating, or inventing, they would be learning something serious. When they play more, they would learn more too. So, you should also avoid the adult-involvement in the play-time. But if they wanted you to join with them, just accept their invitation to play.

MAKE TIME FOR INDOOR ACTIVITIES: While you could only stay at home now, you could implement some of the indoor activities. This would be the best way to practice school skills and also entertain kids. So, make sure of the place where you could play peacefully with your kids. You might schedule indoor activities such as box road, toy-washing bin, trash art, and sticky match-up.

MAKE A READING SESSION: It is important for the kids to develop the reading habit. When you are all at home each day, it would be great to create the reading habit in kids. So, schedule 20 minutes of reading every day which would be best and sharpens the knowledge of the kids. And if your kid wants to read more, then do not think too much. So, you could do it the next day.

ADD A SCREEN-TIME: As a parent, if you are allowing your kids to have a screen-time, then you should have to use it wisely. Schedule the screen time and make it predictable for them. And turn it off when the screen-time is over and never leave the television on as background noise which is the most common mistake everyone would commit. Also, save screen-time for big moments other than the scheduled time.
