Filmmaker and producer Karan Johar announced his first-ever authored children’s book titled ‘The Big Thoughts of Little Luv’ on Tuesday. The book is inspired from his own experiences as a parent.

In the book, Johar, who became a single father to twins, Yash and Roohi through surrogacy in 2017, explores the challenges every parent faces as well as the differences imposed between boys and girls while raising them.

The picture book will be published by Juggernaut Books, the filmmaker announced in a post on Twitter, he wrote, “Wanted to share something exciting! My first picture book for kids! #thebigthoughtsoflittleLUV ! Coming soon! Thank you @mrsfunnybones for introducing me to the wonderful @Chikisarkar @juggernautbooks”.

The filmmaker also shared a video, featuring him and his two children, where he gives a sneak-peak about the content of the book. The book will narrate the story of twins, Luv and Kusha.

In the past 2-3 months, the debates around topics like that of the nepotism row have increased post the untimely demise of Sushant Singh Rajput. Certain sections of people have also blamed certain celebrities from the Bollywood film industry and accused them of sidelining the late actor.

Karan Johar was among others who faced backlash amidst the same. The filmmaker has been away from social media for quite some time. He had earlier turned off the comments section on his handles.

As soon as Johar made announcement about his book, it did not go down well with the netizens and they trolled him mercilessly. Many of them even threatened to boycott his book. Meanwhile, a few others accused him of gaining sympathy by using his children’s name. A few days back, something similar happened when Saif Ali Khan announced his autobiography and was trolled for the same.

Johar had previously released his autobiography, “An Unsuitable Boy”, in 2017. The director had written about his relationship with many celebrities, including close friends Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan, while also talking about how his cinema is often labelled elitist, among other things.

On the film front, Johar is currently working on his first historical drama “Takht”, which features Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles.

The film is scheduled to release on December 24, 2021.
