Truly A Moving Moment, National Award Win Says Vicky Kaushal

Actor Vicky Kaushal just won his first National Award in Best Actor Category his stellar performance in URI- The Surgical Strike. The actor took to his social media profile and wrote a heartfelt note, and also wished Ayushmann Khurrana, with whom he is sharing the award.

The action drama based on real-life mission undertaken by Indian armed forces post Pulwama attack. The film is a dramatised account of the retaliation to the 2016 Uri attack. It follows Major Vihaan Singh Shergill of the Indian Army, who plays a leading role in the events.

The film has fetched Best Actor Award for Vicky Kaushal, Best Director Award for Aditya Dhar and Best Sound Designer Award.

Vicky Kaushal wrote on his social media profile, “Words might fall short to describe the happiness I’m feeling right now. For my work to be recognized by the honorable National Film Awards Jury is truly a moving moment for me and my family. I wish to thank each and every member of the jury committee for finding me worthy of the prestigious Best Actor Award for my work in URI- The Surgical Strike”

Adding about sharing the award with Ayushmann Khurrana, actor wrote, “I’m also very happy to be sharing this award with someone whom I admire, both as a person and as an actor. Ayushmann, congratulations brother! I wish to dedicate this award to my parents, to every member of the Team URI, to our nation and to our armed forces who put their lives on the line each day, come rain or storm. Thank You!”

Meanwhile on the work front, Vicky Kaushal is busy with Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship, Sardar Udham Singh Biopic and Takht.
